Neurological Conditions Advisory Group

Chair: Dr Paul Goldsmith, Consultant Neurologist, The Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Due to a substantial reduction in funding for the Clinical Networks this year, we have been directed to focus on a reduced number of national priorities. Neurological conditions is not one of our 2016/17 priorities and as such we are unable to provide administrative or project management support to the Neurological Conditions Advisory Group.

We want to take this opportunity to commend the work of this group between the period 2013 – 2016 and we have compiled a document of their achievements which is available via the link below. The group continues to meet and contacts can be provided if required.

Neurological Conditions Legacy Document

The Neurological Conditions Advisory Group provides collective leadership to the Neurological Conditions Network.  The scope of the Neuro Advisory Group’s work includes all issues related to neurological services across the whole pathway of care. It will provide guidance locally, regionally and nationally, to all involved in commissioning and providing care for this population. The group will identify gaps in provision and work towards achieving equitable delivery of service across the Network.  The members of the group will acknowledge new developments in neurological provision internationally, nationally and locally and review their applicability to current clinical practice.

The Group acts as a conduit for communication between Network stakeholders and NHS England and links as required to other network advisory groups, steering groups and the Senate.
