Liver Nurses Group

Due to a substantial reduction in funding for the Clinical Networks this year, we have been directed to focus on a reduced number of national priorities. The liver workstream is not one of our 2016/17 priorities and as such we are unable to provide administrative or project management support to the Liver Nurses Group.

We want to take this opportunity to commend the work of this group between the period 2013 – 2016 and we have compiled a document of their achievements which will shortly be made available via this website. The group continues to meet and contacts can be provided if required.

The Liver Network supported the development of a group of Specialist Nurses involved in liver care, this was established in 2014. The group holds regular meetings which brings together nurses from around the network who all have a variety of specialist roles in caring for patients and families with liver disease. The group feels that the education and development of specialist nurses is a key priority. All nurses involved within the network are keen to access more training and to gain formal qualifications in liver care, once they become available.
