Cardiac Advisory Group

Chair: Dr John Bourke, Consultant Cardiologist

The purpose of the Cardiac Advisory Group is to provide an opportunity to identify and share evidence based practice, evaluate service provision and health outcomes and plan improvements where needed.

The scope of work includes all issues related to cardiac services across the whole pathway of care. It provides guidance locally, regionally and nationally, to all involved in providing care for this population. It identifies gaps in provision and works towards ensuring there is an equitable delivery of service across the Network. The members of the group acknowledge new developments in cardiac provision internationally, nationally and locally and review their applicability to current clinical practice.

The overall intent of this group is to provide a forum for forward planning, agreeing areas which need to be addressed, service improvements and new developments.
